Worship set for March 23, 2014

What a great worship time this morning! The choir introduced another awesome Matt Redman song, “Endless Hallelujah”, and we had an extended time of worship with five songs and some inspiring scripture after the sermon. God was definitely worshiped! Thanks to the Holy Spirit for showing up. 🙂

When The Stars Burn Down

Let’s spend a few minutes meditating on the Lamb – who died in our place, and whom we will see face to face in all his glory one day.

“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” – Eph. 3:18

God’s love for us is crazy. It doesn’t make sense. Rom 5:8 reminds us that it was while we were still sinners, actively rebelling against God, Christ chose to die in our place.

“Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” – Psalm 36:5

“Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens you are there, if I make my bed in the depths you are there…If I say “surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me, even the darkness will not be dark to you” – Psalm 139:7-8

He pursues us relentlessly, with passion.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Rom. 8:38

There is no more powerful force in the universe than the love of God.

“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” – Zeph 3:17

His love is like a hurricane, furious and raging beyond our control, yet glorious. It’s like a lion: powerful and untamed. Thank God that He is love.

Isaiah 1:18 – “”Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

1 Cor. 15:56-57 – “56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
