HOLY, HOLY, HOLY

In a few minutes we will be hearing a message on the importance of perseverance in the faith. Hebrews 12:1 says “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” I love that line “fixing our eyes on Jesus.” It’s like when you’re walking a narrow or treacherous bridge they say “don’t look down”, keep your eyes on where you’re headed. Paul is saying the same thing here: don’t focus on the circumstances surrounding you, pay no attention to the light and momentary troubles you’re facing, rather fix your eyes on where you’re headed. Point yourself at the goal and stay focused on that. And our goal is Jesus, our destination is Jesus.

The second line of this song we’re about to sing says “Naught be all else to me save that thou art.” To me, that is a great example of fixing our eyes on Jesus – Naught be all else – everything else is nothing compared to knowing you, and being in relationship with you. To me, that’s the key to perseverance in tough time.
So let’s do that right now as we sing Be Thou My Vision.

BE THOU MY VISION

Let’s continue to fix our eyes on Jesus as we read our loud together, this verse from Deut. 32:3-4 “I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”

PRAISE TO THE LORD THE ALMIGHTY

We praise You, Lord as Immaunel: God with us. Deut. 31:6 says that you will never leaves us or forsake us. We love you and thank you Holy Spirit for your nearness.

NEVER ONCE
