Worship Set for September 7, 2014 (The Ridge Church, Lincoln)

John 3:16 Because of Your Love; Romans 5:8; This Is Amazing Grace; Deuteronomy 31:6; Never Once; Every Day

We have the incredible privilege to come into the presence of an incredible God this morning – a God who loves us so much that he would give up his one and only son to die in our place.

Arguably the most famous verse in the Bible, John 3:16 spells it out plainly: God so loved the world that he gave His one and only son. that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Would you stand with us and praise the Lord that we have eternal life, that we are welcomed into the kingdom of heaven, forgiven and free…because of His love. Is anyone here excited about that? If you’re happy to have eternal life say “yeah!” If you’re grateful to God for his love and forgiveness say “yeah!” Now let’s sing it to Him!

BECAUSE OF YOUR LOVE

Romans 5:8 says that “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Does anyone else think that is incredible? Would you do that? Would you volunteer to die in the place of a person who was in the habit of actively sinning against you? Would you send your only son or daughter to die in the place of someone who was constantly rejecting your efforts to love them? That’s what God did. That’s amazing! But not only is it amazing that God chose to forgive us, but the power of his death on the cross is amazing! His sacrifice conquered sin and death forever! That is amazing!

THIS IS AMAZING GRACE

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

NEVER ONCE

I’d like to encourage you to take the next four minutes to get your heart in the right place before God, and to dedicate your life to Him. Maybe you first dedicated your life to God 40 years ago, or maybe you did it for the first time last week, or maybe you’ve never dedicated to living your life for God. But there is nothing else on earth, there’s is nothing that compares to having your heart fully devoted to the God who created the Universe, and who know you and loves you like crazy. Life is meaningless without Christ. But Jesus said “I have come that you might have life and have it abundantly!” So let’s sing this song and make the words a prayer as we acknowledge all that He has done for us, and all that we want to do for Him.
