Worship Set For January 26, 2014

Holy, Holy, Holy, Mighty To Save, Healer, Your Name, Everything Is Different

Holy, Holy, Holy

Does anyone here need forgiveness? Does anybody need God’s mercy? Does anybody need a savior? Me too!
Praise God that He sought us out. Jesus said he came to seek and to save the lost – that’s us! That’s you and me! He came to earth and stretched out His arms in love, stretched out His arms and allowed men whom He had created, whom He formed in the womb, men He loved dearly, to nails his outstretched hands to a cross and put him death.
But praise God He didn’t stay dead! For our God is a mighty warrior. Mighty to save! Psalm 24 says, “Who is this King of Glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, The Lord, invincible in battle.”
This mighty warrior triumphed over sin and death, for our sake. He conquered the grave! Amen! Praise the Lord!

And he did it for you. And for me….Rom. 5:8, one of my absolute favorite verses in the Bible, a verse that in my opinion practically sums up what Christianity is all about, says this: “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
While we were still sinners…knowing full well that we would sin again, even after receiving forgiveness and grace and choosing to follow Him, we would stumble. Knowing that we would be prone to wander. Knowing all this, He chose to die in our place – praise God for our conquering King.

Mighty To Save

Healer

In just a minute our ushers are going to pass the offering bags down the rows and we will have the privilege of bringing our tithes and offerings to the King, to the Creator, to our Savior with gratitude in our hearts for all He’s done.
And as we sing together, let’s worship Him with affection as our Strong Tower, our refuge, our comforter. When the offering bag has passed by, you may want to stand back up. But let’s worship Him together with our offerings and with singing!

I’m sure none of us, after reading about the terrible torment for those who choose to not receive the forgiveness of Christ, none of us want to choose that route. And praise the Lord that although we don’t deserve forgiveness, we haven’t earned the right to have our names in the book of life, God pours out His mercy freely.

We couldn’t do it on our own. On our own, we are stuck in our sin. There is no way. Romans 8:3 says that what the law was powerless to do – God did! We were stuck: there was no way out. But God made a way where there was no way!! And that changes everything!!

Please stand as we worship the Lord!
